As a member of the “Vereinigung Evangelischer Freikirchen” (VEF), we stand together with the other Free Churches of VEF on the ground of the six following statements:
What unites us …
- The One Lord
Jesus Christ is the only Lord and Saviour. He is the living Son of God and the head of the
Church. We affirm the Apostle's Creed and believe that salvation is gained through faith
alone in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
- The One Word
The Bible is the Word of God and the final authority in all matters of faith and doctrine, as
well as in one's personal life. The Bible is the revealed will of God.
- The Personal Faith
Everyone must make the choice of faith for themselves. God offers the gift of salvation,
forgiveness of sins and eternal life through faith in the saving work of Jesus Christ. Perosnal faith begins with confessing Jesus as Lord and accepting God's gift of salvation. Personal faith leads to confessing Christ to others and serving others.
- The Community Of Believers
To become a member of a free church, you must first make a personal confession of faith in
Jesus Christ. This is followed by a concious decision to seek membership. There are no age
restrictions. Free Churches are supported by voluntary contributions and by active
participation in Church life. The church members take an active role in the community life
and work of the church.
- The Great Commission
Jesus gave the command to teach all nations and to spread the “good news” of salvation to
all people. Free Churches see the call to faith in Jesus as their primary function in society. Our goal is to spread the love of God and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus throughout
Germany and the world at large.
- The Hope of Christ's Return
Jesus will return and this gives us motivation to contribute to the improvement of the world.
For God so loved the World that He gave his only Son that whoever belevies in Him will not
perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) God will create a new Heaven and a new Earth
and this fills us with joy and expectation in the hope of His return.
